Jerry Murphy Tyres is pleased to announce the launch of our tracking (wheel alignment) centre, with the newest, most accurate 4 post laser alignment system, for modern and high performance vehicles.
What is wheel alignment?
Its part of standard vehicle maintenance that consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the car maker's specification, and running parallel with the ground.
The purpose of these adjustments is maximum tire life and vehicle-travel that is straight and true when driving along a straight and level road, although most machines and the technicians who use them set the alignment to adjust for crowned roads, as well as correct tracking when driving on turns.
Why does my car need to be tracked?
The wheel alignment is recommended to be checked by most vehicle manufacturers at least once a year. The reason for this is both impacts from potholes, etc, and the natural wear of suspension parts in use causes the tracking to change over time.
